Dick Bish was born on September 17th, 1934, to Earl Bish and Katherine Lettie. He was the 2nd born of 7. he grew up in Porter, Pennsylvania. In his younger years, Dick enjoyed playing baseball. At the age of four, he started working on the farm, and by age 14, he worked as a grave digger. In 1954 he moved to New York and brought his wife Patty, his high school sweetheart, with him. Their first of five was born in 1955.  Dick enjoyed hunting for deer and rabbits in Pennsylvania with his brothers and his sons.  Dick, his boys, and his siblings would get together yearly for hunting, using their mother’s house as a base camp where she would cook delicious homemade meals, especially her rabbit pot pie, for them. He was a humble man who enjoyed hillbilly music, sudoku, and mostly spending time with his family.

The family would purchase and move to their family home in 1961 in the town of Hamburg, New York. Dick worked for Allied Chemical/PVS Chemical as a truck driver until his retirement, which only lasted nine months. He came out of retirement and worked for Penske trucking for many years thereafter. He and Patty would share 50 cherished years of marriage and five wonderful children before her passing in 2004. He would find a companion in Dottie, who accompanied him to church on  Sunday. His children, Daryl, Cindy, Dennis, Cheri, and Connie Jo, would provide him with loving family life, including 13 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

He was unique in that he was a part of 5 living generations on three occasions. On is paternal side this includes his grandfather, David, Father, Earl, himself, His son Daryl, and his grandson Darin. On the maternal side, his grandmother Winifred, mother Katherine, himself, his son Daryl and his grandson Darin. The most recent being himself, his son Daryl, his grandson Darin, his great Granddaughter, Brianna, and his great great grandson Asher.
