Christine Burdzy

Obituary of Christine Burdzy

Christine Burdzy, also known as Chris to her friends and family, was born on February 1st, 1944, in Buffalo, New York, to her parents, Peter and Charolette. Chris went on to meet her husband Ziggy; they met through a couple of mutual friends approximately 50 years ago. The two hit it off immediately; they were a perfect fit for each other. Not long after meeting, she married the love of her life; Chris and Ziggy were married for 47 loving years. Chris loved her family for than anything, especially her son Scott. Her family grew when Scott had his son Darrick, who she adored. Chris would often babysit Darrick when he was a kid.

Chris liked to keep herself busy. Some of her many hobbies included her many annual trips to Las Vegas with her husband or tending to her garden, which mainly consisted of vegetables. She also enjoyed cooking and baking; she was known for her famous Rum Cake; you couldn’t have just one slice. Later in life, Chris found a passion for jet skiing; she loved taking her son and grandson with her.

When Chris wasn’t discovering new hobbies and spending time with her family, she was at work. She worked as a waitress her whole life; for many years, she worked at Roosevelt on Broadway, and the last place she worked and retired from was Denny’s in Hamburg. Chris found joy in what she did and was known for her hardworking spirit.

Chris found happiness in everything she did. She will always be remembered for her contagious laugh, bright smile, and strength; she was a fighter. Chris lived a fulfilling and happy life.
