Obituary of Rachel Lynn Muscato
Rachel Lynn (Pike) Muscato. Family and friends called her Shelly. Shelly was 61 and fought a long battle with cancer. She decided to knock on heavens door on June 15, 2022.
She was born and raised in Buffalo. She was the second daughter to Richard and Marilyn Pike on April 23, 1961. Shelly and her sister Dorothy Reyna when growing up enjoyed doing skits like Sonny & Cher. Shelly would impersonate Sonny, dress up with a mustache and checked bell bottoms and knew all his moves. She would also play the drums like she was Ringo Star. They liked dressing up together as brides in their mother's slips and high heels marching down Savona Street (Mom Marilyn would get so mad, yelling “That’s my underwear you have on!”)
Shelly attended West Seneca West High School, although she didn’t care much for it. Her 2 favorite subject were Skipping with Friends and How to "Play Sick". Later in life, she was a nurses aid at Seneca Manor. She met many of her friends there, with one of those friends being Joan Darragh. A true friend indeed, with a heart of gold, Joan became her caretaker to the very end and then some. Shelly and Jim Muscato met and were blessed with a daughter named Alesha. Alesha was born with challenges of her own.Shelly loved and adored her with all her heart. Together, they enjoyed music, cooking, eating cheesecake, collecting knickknacks and going to carnivals.
Hummingbirds were her favorite bird. So, if you see a hummingbird appear, you’ll know a angel is near.
Shelly will be sadly missed, but will always be in our hearts.
