Obituary of Darius M. Duggan

Darius Duggan was a beloved Husband, Dad, Son, Grandson, Brother, Uncle, and friend to many. He was born on April 20th, 1982 in Buffalo, New York. An avid outdoorsman and animal lover from a young age, Darius wanted to be a herpetologist from the age of 4. His passion for animals started with spiders, bees, and ants while bug collecting with His Grandma Rosie. That love of insects would later grow into a passion for reptiles, amphibians, and snakes. Darius enjoyed frequent weekend trips to the Elmwood pet store as a child. As a teenager, he started working in that very same pet store. Darius met his loving wife Ashley through a friend at work. They became good friends, and the rest was history. They soon had two beautiful daughters, Emma and Ambria. Darius loved spending time with his little girls and family. Just like Darius, his little girls shared the same love for reptiles and animals. He shared this special bond with Emma and Ambrie, teaching them how to care for all their cherished scaled and furry companions. Darius had quite the collection of snakes and reptiles totaling 37 altogether, as well as his 3 dogs and 3 cats. Darius loved all animals and had ambitions to start his own business around reptiles and snakes so that he could spend more time with his family as opposed to being away at his job. He was very knowledgeable about animals but also had a green thumb. Darius could grow and clone many different types of plants. He created habitats for his pets, growing native plants for their enclosures. Darius enjoyed talking to others about his animals and about his other passions. When Darius wasn’t tending to his beloved pets, he was outdoors. Darius loved to spend his free time fishing and working out. Lifting weights was his go to, and he even involved his kids in his workouts sometimes. A huge fan of rock and heavy metal, you would often hear him listening to his favorite band, Disturbed. He truly was a one of a kind man that will always be remembered for being willing to lend a helping hand (especially if it involved some grunt work) and a loving passion for all animals. Duggan, Darius M. Unexpectedly May 29, 2022 of Colden, NY.
