Obituary of David Ronald French

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
David Ronald French was born on September 15, 1966, in Buffalo, New York. His mother, Bonnie, later divorced Dave's father and raised Dave as a single parent until she married Robert French, who adopted him. Dave was very close with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially his grandfather, Bob Neischel. They often went fishing together and took an annual trek to Black Lake in upstate New York for great perch and small-mouth bass fishing! Dave also loved baseball and hockey, and Grandpa rarely missed one of his games. Dave would also get his nickname" Frenchie" during his childhood years. When Dave grew up, he married and had three children: Jessica, Adam, and Jacob. His family would later grow with the addition of two adorable grandchildren, twins Sophia and Andrew Kelly Jr. A loving and fun dad and grandfather, Dave enjoyed spending time with his family and made an effort to get involved in their activities, whether it was hockey, fishing, sledding, or other adventures. When not spending time with his family, his many interests included repairing/painting cars, entering/driving in the annual Erie County Fair demolition derby, and attending car races at Holland Speedway with his sons. His passion for cars and fixing things also extended to his career as a truck driver and later as a welder, where his hard work shined through. Overall, Dave was a great, hard-working guy, always there to lend a hand. He had a gentle nature, treating everyone with kindness. He will be greatly missed by all. French, David R. “Frenchie” of Hamburg, NY passed peacefully with family on May 6, 2022, at the age of 55. Beloved son of Bonnie (Martin) Weinberger; devoted father of Jessica (Andrew Kelly) French, Adam French, and Jacob (Jessica Berner) French; loving grandfather of twins Sophia and Andrew Kelly Jr.; cherished companion of Denise Ruh; also survived by a loving aunt as well as many cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online condolences can be made at www.LakesideFuneralHome.com.
