Obituary of Constance May Simoneit

Please share a memory of Constance to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Constance May Simoneit was born and raised in Western New York to Harry and Frances Smith. She grew up alongside brothers Irv and Harry and attended South Park High School. Affectionately known as Connie, after high school Connie became a spokesperson for a television program called “Golf and Caddy Tips” while working in public relations at Doral Country Club in Miami, Florida. She was a rarity of her time, a female caddy, and a member on the advisory staff at Spaulding Sports Company and Ladies Professional Golf Association member. She was the devoted wife of late Larry Langhans and late Harold Simoneit. Connie would assist in raising her first husband’s sons and manage Hamburg Legion Lanes by his side. For almost twenty years she devoted her life to assisting with the children’s bowling leagues, hosting tournaments, and managing the day-to-day operations of the eight-lane bowling facility. Later in life she would develop and lead the Senior Bowling league up until the pandemic. Her end of the year banquets were full of laughter and silly antics that were appreciated by all. In her spare time she enjoyed being up to date with politics, watching Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and the 700 Club. Connie was a patriot through and through, and was involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Connie often read and liked collectibles, antiques, and gardening. She played piano and even had the opportunity to participate one summer in the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra as a high school student. Connie loved to help people, make them laugh and always kept them in her prayers. Her love and kindness will truly be missed. Simoneit, Constance “Connie” of Hoover Beach in Blasdell passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 3, 2022. Devoted wife of late Larry Langhans and late Harold Simoneit; Loving sister of Irv (Jane) Smith and Harry Jr. (Mary Jane) Smith; Dear aunt of Kathy, Lisa, Harry, Jenny, Jesse (Kellie), Jake (Laura), and Jody (Kelli) Smith; also survived by great nieces, great nephews, stepchildren and step grandchildren. Services will be announced at a later date. Donations in Connie’s memory may be made to Folds of Honor. Service information, condolences, and donations at www.LakesideFuneralHome.com.
