Obituary of Marie R. Vallon

Please share a memory of Marie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marie Vallon was born in Quebec, Canada in 1945 to Marie and Alfred Labine. Immigrated to the United States and naturalizing would be one of the greatest events that would shape Marie’s life and mold her into the woman she grew to be. Marie was raised alongside two brothers and two sisters named Georgette, Maurice, Doreen, and David with strong Catholic morals. Their mother always taught them to be hard-working, respectful, and kind to others. Some of her fondest memories were spent together when she was young at her grandmother’s house being pulled by their father on a homemade sled over a frozen pond. Throughout life, she stayed most grateful for her faith and family over everything. As a child, she always dreamed of being a stewardess so she could be able to travel the world. Her first job would be a waitress as this was the perfect job for socializing and transitioning into being a restaurant owner. Marie was known for her salads and soups, but personally enjoyed a good cheeseburger, wings, pizza, chocolate, and sponge candy for her sweet tooth. During the early years of Marie’s waitressing, she was blessed with the birth of her two daughters, Michelle, and Nichole. Her family would grow with the addition of a granddaughter, Elise, and three beautiful great-grandchildren. Later in life, Marie would meet Bob Vallon through friends at her restaurant and had a great, happy, and joyful relationship. The pair took a camping trip across the country to the west coast and visited family and friends along the way. When they returned home, the pair committed to getting married and would continue their camping and driving trips to enjoy the scenery of Western New York and Pennsylvania. Marie also enjoyed family trips throughout her life to California, Coronado Bridge, Tajuana Mexico, and annual trips to Florida with her sisters. She loved traveling for holiday dinners and camping during Columbus Day weekend. Marie’s favorite place to spend her free time was at the beach, church, or casino. She liked to play solitaire, euchre, bowling, and volunteering at the fire company as a lifelong Ladies Auxiliary member for over fifty years. Marie wanted those that she loved to always live, love, and laugh and never take one day for granted. To do things that are important to you, make the most out of each day that you’re given because you never know if it’s your last. Enjoy your life and remember how much she loved you every day of it.
