Anita Meyers

Obituary of Anita M. Meyers

Anita Meyers was a caring, giving woman who would do anything for the people she loved. She would give anything that she had to anyone in need. Anita was very optimistic, always wanting to see the best for all. She supported humanitarian and animal causes like Best Friends & the SPCA. After her best friend and her husband Roy passed, she adopted her 12-year-old Aussie Marley, her very best friend. She loved to volunteer for Hospice as a receptionist and greeter and did this for ten years and donated to various veteran charities. Anita was an honest and trustworthy friend. She was the glue that held together her social group, known as the "Thursday Night Out Club." Anita would also organize many other social gatherings. Anita and her friends have gotten together as much as possible for sixty years. An adventurous spirit was part of Anita's nature. It led her to explore the world, such as Hawaii, Alaska, and even Italy. She was a proud Sicilian and loved embracing her heritage and trying new things in life. Anita was very resourceful and always found a way to reuse everything; she loved sharing food, books, really anything with the people she loved. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the senior center on Tuesday afternoons to play pinochle before Covid. After Covid, a small group of her friends would get together at each other's houses to play cards. These get-togethers would typically last for over eight hours. Anita loved her "Peace" roses planted more than fifty decades ago. Her famous new york style cheesecake was loved by so many and was a staple by family and friends. Her Italian sauce (gravy) was made and shared regularly. She was an avid reader and enjoyed drama and romance novels from Nicholas Sparks. She will be missed for her generous nature and remembered for the love that she gave so effortlessly. Meyers, Anita M. of West Seneca, NY, on January 25, 2022. Devoted wife of the late Roy L.
