It is the most devastating event that can happen in a person's life.

Dear Diane, Zoe and Devin,
My heart is aching for you. I am so sorry to hear this. I will always remember that little boy with the big eyes and the smile that lit up the room. I just put away a crystal bead ornament that he gave me all those years ago. I will cherish it always. You are all in my prayers. Blessings and love to all my Friedlander Little Stars, and of course for the Mom who would do anything for her children.

My condolences to all Alec's family. I met Alec during my high school exchange at Nichol's school. I'll always remember the funny moments we had supporting the soccer games and the parties we had over there and also how he enjoyed coming to Spain.

To the Friedlander Family, our love and prayers are with you during this tragic time. May Alec be at peace and we hope that you feel lifted by the love and support from friends and family around you. My last conversation with Alec was awhile back, we were still in college at the time, but I remember how friendly and easy he was to talk to. He will always be remembered that way. I can say with confidence that he lightened the lives of the people around him. With deepest sympathy, The Collins Family - Kate, John, Emily, Kerry, Erin, and Jack.

Met Alec at College of Charleston. One of the best guys I ever came in contact with. Never saw him in a bad mood or having a bad day. I’m sure people closer to him than I was are having a very tough time because of the super person that he was. God bless.

To the Friedlander Family, I am so deeply sorry for your unimaginable loss. When I was a new middle schooler at Nichols, despite being younger than me, Alec made me feel like part of the community. He was welcoming to all and always ready to provide a great laugh - reminding us to not take ourselves too seriously. He was a shining light and kind soul on the campus and he will be greatly missed.
