Obituary of Leonard F. Koch
Leonard Koch was born with the most beautiful blue eyes to Adolph and Anna Koch on March 14th, 1928 in Buffalo, New York. He enlisted with the Marines at the age of 17 and when WWII ended he was happy to get back home to court a beautiful Italian girl that had caught his eye, Anita Tiberia. He would always bring over sweet white celery which the Koch family grew in their large garden and she would sneak a few extra eggs into his basket. She was his princess, the love of his life and he adored her. They were married for 68 years and shared a “true and forever love”; whatever made her happy made him happy. He always hugged and kissed her, held her hand, and called her “Cookie.” As their family grew, he opened L & L Automotive, often working 16 hours a day between the steel plant and repairing cars to provide for his family's needs. He could fix anything, rarely having to hire anyone to do repairs for him. He never hesitated to help family or friends when asked. Leonard, with the help of his brother's-in-law and uncles, built two houses during this time as well. He retired at the age of 50 from Bethlehem Steel where he was a welder and foreman and after tinkering around the house for a few more years he and Anita split time between Buffalo and Bonita Springs, Florida. Leonard loved to fish and go cruising around in his boats. He was an excellent cook and his specialties were BBQ ribs, peanut butter cookies, fried zucchini, and onion rings which everyone loved. He was a quick-witted jokester with a twinkle in his eye who always could get a smile out of you. He had sweet tooth and when you walked in the door he would always ask, “What did you bring me, have anything good with you?” he was always hoping for a sweet treat, as he loved pastries, donuts, and cookies. He was a loving Husband and Father and worked very hard for the life he provided for his family. Leonard will be missed dearly for the warmth and love he gave to those he cherished and remembered fondly for the memories made along the way. Koch, Leonard F.
