David Lawrence Kuhn was born in Rochester, NY to Charles and Mildred Kuhn as one of four children. After his father passed, he cared for his mother until her own passing. He always had a giving nature and was friendly with everyone he met. David had one child named Matthew, who was his pride and joy, the light of his life. After his divorce, Matthew’s mother Linda remained his close friend. David was a very supportive father and was always encouraging Matthew to achieve his goals in life. He was very trusting with family and friends, comfortable; expressive with a quirky sense of humor that he used to always make others laugh, even when it was inappropriate at times. David was very likeable, and people were always attracted to his goofy humor and accepting personality.
When David was younger, he loved sports and played basketball for Canisius High School. After graduating, from ages 20 to 22 he played for multiple minor league baseball farm teams for the Detroit Tigers, alongside his brother Chuck. David was devoted to his long-time job as a manager for Red Wing Shoes in Tonawanda, New York. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing acoustic guitar, caring for his Corvettes, and riding them out to the casinos or horse tracks.
Though David will be missed greatly, he would have never understood how much he was loved and how many people truly care for him.
