Obituary of James L. Wagner

Jim Wagner was a loving and personable man who spent his life developing meaningful relationships with those around him. He was always the life of the party and possessed the rare ability to make quick friends of strangers with his warm personality and humor always at the ready. He was able to find contentment in any situation, and in recent years enjoyed a simple life, happy with staying home by his fireside and enjoying a Manhattan, his favorite cocktail. Family was everything to Jim, and foremost in his heart was his beloved wife Gloria. The two shared a chance encounter in their late teens in Jim’s native Riverside and the rest was history. The pair fell in love and shared 62 beautiful years. Jim and Gloria would later be blessed with three wonderful children: Kathleen, James, and Susan. Jim was a doting father who loved his family, and he would frequently call to check on them, even as they had children and grandchildren of their own. His family would grow with the addition of seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and he was deeply proud of all of them. Jim’s family was his pride and joy, and his greatest wish was for his children and family to always share a close relationship with each other. Jim enjoyed his work immensely as well, and was a loyal employee of Lee Distributing Company for 32 years. During his career there, he worked as a successful sales rep and won several awards for earning top sales. When he wasn't caring for his family or working, Jim kept immaculate care of his yard. He could be seen most mornings on his riding mower making sure his lawn looked as lush as a park, and would then wind down in the evenings by having the whole family over for a roast on his outdoor spit, listening to oldies and German music. Jim will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, loving heart, and great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Wagner, James L.
