Obituary of Barbara J. Sherk

Barbara Sherk was known by her family and friends as a loving, quirky woman with a big heart. She met her husband, Bob, in Bradford, Pennsylvania through some mutual friends when they were both in their late teens. The couple spent over twenty years together before Bob passed away in his 40s. They were blessed with two daughters, Deborah and Cynthia, who meant the world to Barbara. She was overjoyed when her family grew to include several grandchildren and even a great grandchild. Family was one of the most important things in Barbara’s life, and she treasured each moment with her kids and grandkids. Max, Barbara’s Yorkshire Terrier, was also a big part of her life. Not only did she adore the little dog, but he helped keep her active well into her later years. Walking around the neighborhood with Max was one of her favorite things to do to get up and moving! She enjoyed having a companion to keep her company when she otherwise lived alone. Barbara loved spending time outdoors. Bob built a cabin in Canadea that they visited together almost every weekend. The family has many fond memories of sitting around a campfire, sharing a few beers and many good stories and laughs. When she wasn’t walking her dog or spending time with her family, Barbara enjoyed piecing together jigsaw puzzles, listening to country music, playing pinochle, and reading. Her goofy mannerisms and love for life will be missed by many, but not soon forgotten. Sherk, Barbara J. (nee Miller) November 3, 2021 of Buffalo, NY. Beloved wife of the late Robert A. Sherk; devoted mother of Deborah (Charles) Mesi and Cynthia (Thomas) Shelley; cherished grandmother of Misty (Steven) Nola, Cory Mesi, Kyle Mesi, and Garrett (Sutida) Shelley; loving great-grandmother of Bailey Nola; dearest sister of Sherrie (William) Falk and late Patricia (late Robert) McCaslin; also survived by nieces and nephews. A Memorial Celebration will take place in the future. Arrangements by LAKESIDE MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC. 716-627-2919. Please leave online condolences at www.LakesideFuneralHome.com.
