Obituary of Norine M. Appolson

Norine Appolson, born November 8th, 1933, was raised in Buffalo, NY, by Louis and Beulah Wagner. Norine was a family-orientated woman with a strong connection to her faith. Norine and her sister Marie met “two best friends,” Charlie and Bruce. Norine and Charlie dated 5 years, were married, and the rest is history. The couple would be blessed with four children: Charles, Mary Lynn, James, and Cindy. Her family would grow with the addition of one grandchild, Jacob. The family was Norine's whole life, and she would do anything for her children. Friday night game nights and Sunday breakfasts were the highlights of her week. She enjoyed sharing her passions with her children, teaching them how to sing, dance, and play the piano. She never missed any of their sporting events and loved playing games with her children. Norine, however, was known to be competitive, sometimes cheating to victory. Whether it was playing jarts, ping pong, basketball, or softball, Norine's competitive spirit was present, and she always had a great time with her children. Despite the fact that she could be stubborn and disliked cooking, she always made sure her children had delicious meals to eat. Vacations were another way to spend time together with the family vacationing in Canada at Lake of Bays every year. These trips were filled with games of canasta, teaching her children to play. They also owned a home in Florida where Norine would vacation with her family, especially her sister, Marie, and her friends. While in Florida, Norine would pick up bocce ball and shuffleboard. If all else failed, one could find Norine playing various card games for money, with some of her favorites including 500 Rummy and Spite and Malice. Norine was a woman with a big heart when it came to her family. She loved spending time with her family and sharing her hobbies with them. Norine liked to drive fast and danced around whenever music was on, even until her last weeks. She enjoyed life to the fullest until returning to her late husband's side, 15 years apart within the hour. Norine will be greatly missed by everyone she touched. Please take a card to remember Norine and her fighting spirit. Appolson, Norine M. (nee Wagner) of Lake View, NY on October 14, 2021.
