Henry Grudzien

Obituary of Henry Adam Grudzien

Henry Grudzien, affectionately known as Hank, was a devoted family man who always held strong principles in staying true to his genuine self. He was dedicated in serving his country, as he joined the National Guard at 15 years old and convinced his mother to let him enlist into the United State’s Navy at 17. Hank served three tours to viet nam while serving in the Navy. his wife Shigeko caught his eye where she worked on the base; being so impressed by her work ethic, this is where he fell in love with her. His proudest moment after starting a family, was when he reached Chief status in the Navy. while continuing to serve his country as a naval reservist, he became a corrections officer, starting his career at Attica Correctional Facility. Hank always credited his mother for instilling integrity and pride in everything he did. After retiring from the navy and the NYS Dept of Corrections, His two favorite places to spend his free time was his hunting camp and wintering in florida. He was also mechanically inclined and enjoyed fixing anything. In his leisure time he loved listening to jazz, reading, especially Tom Clancy and his favorite movie was Zulu. He was a fantastic cook, known for his pan-fried chicken and loved to eat seafood. Hank will be remembered for his dedicated work ethic, service to country and unwavering devotion to his family. He will be missed by all who’s lives he touched. Grudzien, Henry A. “Hank” of West Seneca, NY passed away on October 4, 2021.
