Obituary of Lawrence Thomas McIntyre

Larry McIntyre was a man of strong faith who was a hard worker his whole life. He was born in Buffalo, NY, to Angeline and Bob McIntyre, where they instilled a great deal of pride in everything he worked to achieve in life. Larry served his country as a hospital corpsman in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1972. Before entering the service, Larry participated in Woodstock and loved to talk about it with friends and families; being a storyteller was one of his many personality quirks. He loved music, as when he was young, he played the drums and enjoyed musicians such as James Taylor, the Eagles, and the Beatles. Larry was also known for always making others laugh and smile with his words, as he loved joking around. He met Nancy through mutual friends, making it the happiest day of his life, eventually marrying her. Larry and Nancy honeymooned in Hawaii and would go on to travel throughout their lives to Florida and many family vacations to Lime Lake. The two were married for forty-three years and brought three beautiful children into the world, Christopher, Lori, and Jeffrey. Some of the most memorable days for Larry were the times he spent with his family at Lime Lake fishing at the cottage or watching sporting events like the Buffalo Bills or Sabres. He always made sure to take the time to slow down and enjoy life, like indulging in a good pasta dinner or his favorite dessert, ice cream. When it was time to get to work, Larry was very dedicated both in the lab and church. For twenty-five years, he labored in the paint industry, in Research and Development and Quality Control for Pratt & Lambert Buffalo. He was a member of St. John Paul II Church for thirty years, serving on their Mission Team, Holy Name Society, Operation Good Neighbors, St. Vincent DePaul Society, sang in Music Ministry during Sunday morning mass and was a member of Knights of Columbus. Larry will be missed by those who loved him dearly, though cherished through fond memories of times spent with family and friends together.
