Linda Greene

Obituary of Linda J. Greene

Linda was known by many as the kind of woman who lit up any room she was in. You always knew she was there before you saw her as her laughter could be heard from the next room! Although she had a heart of gold, Linda also said what she meant, and didn’t bite her tongue if she thought someone needed to hear the truth. A proud wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda was a natural caretaker and always put her family first. Any time one of her kids was sick or having a rough day, she would put aside everything to do whatever she could to help get them through it. After her husband, Kenneth passed away and all of her kids had moved out of the house, Linda found herself with a lot of spare time on her hands. She took a part-time job at Tops working at the samples table just for the opportunity to get out of the house, and enjoyed her time there talking to all of the customers! She also invited two grandchildren to the family as well as 4 step-grandchildren, all of whom she loved and who gave her ample opportunity to get out and do things with her family. Linda loved to cook, and her stringy beef was a family favorite. Her baked beans were so good that several other members of the family tried to steal her recipe. She had to rebrand it “Linda’s baked beans!” Canning was another hobby of hers, and she made excellent pickles. She grew tomatoes and roses in her younger years. A few years ago, Linda decided to take the trip of a lifetime to Europe after reconnecting with some high school friends on Facebook. They travelled to Greece and Italy and had many stories to tell when she came back. Linda was a loving and bright woman with a love for her family and for life that will not soon be forgotten.
