Obituary of Allan James McIntyre

Allan McIntyre was a charming and engaging man who could start a conversation with anyone. He loved meeting new people. He cared deeply for his family, especially his children. He was a proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren. He was always smiling and laughing when he was around them. Allan loved his sisters Helen, Margaret, and brother John. Helen was especially supportive and loving of her brother. Allan was very supportive and proud of his kid’s education. He sent them through private school and encouraged them to obtain a college degree which all six did. He was proud of his own college degree that he earned as a father of six kids. He went on to get a masters after he retired. He enjoyed watching football and attended St. Francis High School Football games whenever he could. He loved reading poetry and history. Competing with the bagpipe bands at the Highland Games was an important part of Allan’s life and he also won awards. He loved his culture and heritage. He was a talented piper and musician. He appreciated all kinds of music and artists. He was very happy when attending concerts. He would usually practice playing while marching up and down his driveway, and always had bagpipes playing at full volume in his car. Second only to his family, Allan was most proud of his military service. He was a Devil Dog at the young age of 17. This was his center for better and worse. He supported all service members and was comforted when around other Vietnam Veterans. He was a member at the American legion post 880. They say that Marines guard the gates of heaven… They have one more loyal brother to stand guard. Semper Fi Allan will be greatly missed by all he touched. McIntyre, Allan J.
