Obituary of Elaine M. Weimer

Elaine was an incredibly kind and giving woman who touched everyone's heart with acceptance and grace. A woman with strong beliefs and a big heart, Elaine was someone who was always there when you needed her. Born February 20, 1940, to Alfred and Alice Weinheimer, Elaine was raised with her siblings Alfred, Paul, and Alice in Buffalo, NY. As she aged, Elaine met her husband, the late Eugene, when the pair lived next door to each other. Eugene, a widower, and Elaine divorcee, the pair quickly hit it off and fell in love. Throughout their years together, Elaine was incredibly devoted to Eugene. The couple cared deeply for their extended family, including Elaine's step-children Suzanne and Laura, six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and many very dear and close friends. Elaine's giving heart made her like a grandmother to her great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends' families. She was so giving that when children in her family were asked what they wanted from Santa, they would reply, "Who needs Santa? We will just ask Grandma Weimer." She would keep Christmas morning going by continuing to bring more gifts out of the backroom. There were also overstuffed stockings filled with goodies; the family would look forward to breakfast breaks because there were so many presents! She was a remarkable woman who always made loved ones feel heard, like a family counselor, always with an open ear. Elaine's family also extended to her beloved pets, including beautiful Irish Setters; she was a true dog whisperer. Loved ones will remember Elaine for her signature look topped off with a string of pearls and was known as the "Mayor of Twin Willows." When Elaine was not taking care of her family, she proudly worked as a service representative for 29 years with ITT and Buffalo Telecom until retiring in 2001. She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her bird feeders to watch her visitors. Elaine will be remembered for her kind heart and giving soul. She was a true role model to her family members, showing what unconditional, real love could be; Heaven is a bit better now with her in it.
