Bettyann was known as the kind of woman whose personality filled up any room she occupied. She was the life of the party everywhere she went and had an amazing sense of humor. She was a naturally loving and giving woman with a big heart. Her love of people and helping others led her to volunteer for several years with the First Offenders in West Seneca, an organization that worked to get kids in the community back on the right path after their first encounter with the criminal justice system. She was known to take people in who needed an extra hand, and unofficially adopted most of the kids in her extended family because she loved kids and was so much fun to be around.
Being very family-oriented, Bettyann spent 63 years with her husband James before he passed in 2019. The couple was blessed with two children; James and Peter. Although Bettyann loved babies and children in general, the apple of her eye was her granddaughter, Katherine. Bettyann and Katherine were very close, and even though Katherine lived in Albuquerque the two frequently chatted and facetimed to keep in touch.
Bettyann was a spitfire and had a fighting spirit. Even though she didn’t finish high school, she returned and got her GED and even went on to get an associates degree in Computer Sciences. A lifelong learner, she consumed any books she could get her hands on. She also loved to garden and tend to her flowers. Her and James kept an immaculate yard and had a large vegetable garden for many years.
Bettyann was truly a unique and incredible woman, and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
