Obituary of Karen L. Madigan

Karen Madigan was a thoughtful and compassionate woman with a great sense of humor who loved to make people laugh. A loving and nurturing mother, Karen was also very outgoing and well-liked. She had a passion for American Flags and Navy-themed things since her parents were both Navy Veterans. Karen was a loving mother to two daughters, Jessica and Emily. She enjoyed spending time with her family, no matter what they were doing. She was thrilled with the addition of her first grandchild, Nyah, Emily's daughter. Nyah was Karen's pride and joy. She was even more excited at the thought of a new addition to the family as Emily is currently pregnant with another granddaughter, Alaiyah. Karen was incredibly loyal to her family and would do anything to help or protect them. Karen's compassionate demeanor was one of the main reasons she was a great nurse. She worked as an LPN at Safire Rehabilitation Center and loved it. Karen was very strict and professional about her job. Her coworkers often said how she refused to cut corners and how she would often call people out on those who did. Karen was a skilled crafter. She loved to do all kinds of crafts like making wreaths and painting. Karen often spent time with Nyah teaching her how to paint as well. She always made decorations for people and just recently made the centerpieces for Emily's gender reveal party. Karen also loved to cook for her family, especially making her specialty dish of Strawberry Chicken Salad. Some of Karen's favorite things were the color purple, Hello Kitty, plants, and sloth-themed items from t-shirts to stuffed animals. When not spending time with family or crafting, you could find Karen watching LifeTime, horror movies, or listening to her favorite music, Metallica and Black Sabbath. Karen will be greatly missed by all she touched. Madigan, Karen L. of Lackawanna, NY passed June 7, 2021.
