Obituary of Alicia L. Hilmey

Alicia Hilmey was a beautiful girl who led her family with a loving, caring heart. Born in 1981 in Buffalo to Charles and Barbara Martin, Alicia grew up with her little sister, Molly. Alicia's caring nature made her the best big sister Molly could ask to have. Her family was incredibly important to Alicia, and she grew up to be a fantastic aunt and doting mother to two beautiful children: Paige and Teagen. She enjoyed spending time with her family, often taking trips to Disneyworld and Georgia. They were even able to experience a space shuttle launching. Her family also extended to her close friends, Leen, Newt, and Pat Hummel. The group could be found camping at the Kinzua Reservoir almost every weekend. Other favorite spots included Hanford Bay for tans on the beach or trips to Cedar Point to ride all the roller coasters. Alicia was also a huge animal lover. She kept many beloved pets throughout her life, including two dogs, a turtle, a bird, an iguana, cats, guinea pigs, and fish. Her love for animals and her pets became a career to support her family. After receiving her Associate's Degree, Alicia began work as a Veterinary Technician at Thorn Ave Animal Hospital in Orchard Park, NY. Throughout her life, Alicia had a few hobbies. As a child, Alicia enjoyed playing softball and playing the flute with the championship-winning Quaker Marching Band. As an adult, Alicia often taught exercise classes. When not working or going on adventures with her family, Alicia also could be found collecting memorabilia from her favorite movie, The Wizard of Oz. Alicia will be remembered for her caring soul and giving nature. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Hilmey, Alicia L. (nee Martin) May 24, 2021 of West Seneca, NY.
