Obituary of Robert S. Malayny

Robert Malayny was also known as Bob or back in his day...”Poor Bob.” He was loved by many and will be remembered as a kind and generous man. He owned and operated the Woodbine Inn . If there was a lonely, down on his luck patron at his Bar he would invite that man to his family’s Thanksgiving dinner. Bob was a proud member of the United States Army. When he returned home from service he met and married his beautiful wife Rosemarie. Together the raised four amazing daughters. Kelly, Sue, Kathy and Elaine. They raised their children in Derby, NY. Bob liked the simple things. He enjoyed the sunshine and it was no surprise that he lived in Florida for many years. He loved to play golf with his buddies and have a cocktail with them after. He spent time with his eldest daughter Kelly and her family in Florida and loved being around his grandchildren. Upon moving back to NY, Kathy and Tim welcomed our father into their home. Bob had many friends here and enjoyed his time at the Knights of Columbus. He also was a lector at St. Mary’s on the lake. He was blessed with a beautiful voice and charisma that he shared lovingly with the congregation. Bob loved to spend time with his family. Whether it was dinner at Elaine’s or Sue’s... or bingo with his sister Irene. Being surrounded by the people he loved made him happy. He continued playing golf here and was known for giving “pointers” and “diminishing “ his number of strokes. Bob was kind and humble. He was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed by all. Malayny, Robert S. March 23, 2021 of Hamburg, NY.
