Obituary of Robert D. Noonan

Robert D. Noonan was born on May 29th, 1944 to Richard and Caroline Noonan. Bob had a brother Gerry and sister Diana and grew up in West Seneca, NY. A likable and loyal guy, Robert kept a close-knit group of his childhood friends throughout the years. After attending West Seneca Schools, Bob joined the U.S. Airforce where he worked as a mechanic and member of a refueling squadron. He earned several medals during his service, including Rank of A2C or Airman Second Class, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Member of the 385th Strategic Aerospace Wing, and Member of 34th Air Refueling Squadron. He also took classes and courses in Mechanical Accessories and Equipment Repair, Military Justice. Bob used the mechanical skills he learned and took a job at National Fuel, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic for 33 years. Bob enjoyed his career with National Fuel. Bob met his wife Louise Perillo on a blind date, and they married at Fourteen Holy Helpers soon after. Bob and Louise were married for 53 years and had 2 children, a daughter Michele and a son Michael. Bob was a loving and supporting father. His life revolved around taking care of and supporting his family. He loved spending time with them. He was very proud of raising his kids in the home he bought with Louise and renovated himself using the skills he learned in the Airforce. Bob became known as a "Mr. Fix It." If he couldn't fix something, Bob would always find a solution to keep it working for a short period until the next fix. A "guy's guy" as a young man, Bob, and his friends often watched football, played card games such as pinochle, and raced at the Niagara Racetrack on Sundays. Racing his classic Chevy Chevelle, Bob won 1st place and was incredibly proud and kept the trophy to this day. Bob enjoyed many other pastimes throughout the years including softball, fishing, bowling, woodworking, and golfing. Later in life, Bob developed new interests including winemaking, scratch-off lottery tickets, trips to the casino, and feeding the birds around his home. Soon after Bob retired, he was thrilled to become a “Papa” to 4 beautiful grandchildren who adored him. He enjoyed spending time with them and had several memories of vacations, graduations, and many birthday parties through the years. Robert D. Noonan was a giving and selfless man. He was known to give to many charities and would give anyone the shirt off his back. His loved ones always came before him. A quiet man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, Bob also had a stubborn side and could speak passionately about topics he cared about, such as politics. Bob was also a man of immense faith. He loved going to church and lived his life guided by Catholic principles and teachings. Bob will be remembered for his strong faith, big heart, and love for the simpler things in life. He will be deeply missed by all those he touched in this life. Noonan, Robert February 28, 2021 of Boston, NY.
