Obituary of Margaret Lucy Ferguson
Margaret Ferguson was a sharp woman with a great sense of humor who loved to laugh. Even when things went wrong, she could always find the humorous side and laughed so hard that she couldn't move. Margaret was very proud of her two girls, Nan and Kim. She always taught her daughters to stick together and to remind them she bought them shirts that said, "If my sister falls, I'm always there to pick her up, as soon as I stop laughing."
One of Margaret's favorite holidays was Christmas. Each year was a different theme for her Christmas tree. She would hold an open house the day after Christmas and would welcome many annually. She did all the cooking, and each person got a memorable keepsake for coming to the party.
Kim always called Margaret "Her beach mom" because Margaret loved the beach. . She enjoyed swimming thoroughly and was a strong swimmer. She would sometimes swim out farther than the lifeguards wanted her to. Margaret also enjoyed walking outside during good weather and was an avid mall walker during inclimate weather.
As she got older and less mobile, Margaret would enjoy sitting and watching the birds and hawks as they would flock to a dead tree. She would even have fun making up stories about the birds. Something she enjoyed as well was playing dominos with her daughter Kim and Kim's husband, Joe.
Margaret loved listening to Swing Music, Big Band, and Benny Goodman. In high school, she played the saxophone, although it was known she was not very good.
