Jeanne VanRemmen

Obituary of Jeanne Marie VanRemmen

Jeanne VanRennen was a woman full of laughter and joy. She loved to have fun with her long-time friends and enjoyed a good conversation over drinks. Jeanne was also known for her high-achieving personality and her meticulously clean home where everything had its place. Everyone always used to say that her floors were so clean, you could eat off them. Jeanne was a devoted mother to her two wonderful children; Shawn and Amy. While raising her family, Jeanne worked for the Derby Fire Aparatus as a bookkeeper. As her children grew, Jeanne went back to college and began her career as a Registered Nurse. Jeanne would spend many years as a RN at several healthcare facilities including Mercy Hospital, Hospice Buffalo, and nursing homes in Dunkirk. When not working as an RN or raising her family, Jeanne was heavily involved with several community organizations. For 18 years, she volunteered her time with the North Evans Ladies Auxiliary organizing fundraisers and fish fries. Jeanne also spent the last 8 years arranging baby showers and fundraising events for the VFW Post in Derby. Additionally, she also assisted with the American Legion Post 928. Some of Jeanne’s favorite passtimes was cooking and baking. Known for her culinary and baking skills, Jeanne made fantastic meals for her family and friends. Some of her best dishes were Norwegian meatballs, fruitcake, and her famous cheesecakes, cookies, and pies. When not cooking, Jeanne enjoyed listening to music. She preferred rock, ABBA, Engelbert Humperdinck, the BeeGees, and Chicago. She also loved sharing her music tastes with her family, even introducing Shawn to Alice Cooper. Please remember Jeanne for her kindness she would do for everyone around her. VanRemmen, Jeanne M. (nee Carlsen) December 25, 2020 of Derby, NY.
