Obituary of Gary Lavern Bieber

Gary was a man who appreciated the people in his life, and made sure they knew it. He was known to tell everyone he loved them every time he talked to them – from his family right down to his landlord. A genuine and caring person, Gary would do anything he could to help someone if they needed it. One of the ways he enjoyed taking care of others was through food! Gary was an avid hunter but didn’t let anything go to waste. He used the antlers of the deer he bagged to decorate his house, while using the meat of any deer or fish he could catch to feed his family and neighbors. You could always count on him to have some venison around! Even in his last few years, when he had trouble doing some of the things he used to do, he would take his dear friend Mary Jo out with him to help him get the deer he caught back to the vehicle. And even when it was difficult for him, he wanted to fire up the grill and make a meal for everyone when he got it home! Watching Bills and Sabres games was one of Gary’s favorite things to do, and of course it was always better if he could watch with company! He truly enjoyed the people in his life and loved sharing in all of their Joys and triumphs. If there was a get together or an event he couldn’t make it to, he wanted pictures of it – and he saved them all. His many photo albums full of his favorite people were among his favorite possessions. He dearly loved his son, Jack, and although he didn’t see him as much in recent years, he talked about him to everyone and treasured every photo of him. He wanted all the good things in life for him, and kept him in his prayers always. Gary’s authenticity and unabashed love for everyone around him will truly be missed, but not soon forgotten. of Dunkirk, NY on November 4, 2020.
