Roy was known by his family and friends as a kind and caring soul. After serving in the Army during World War II, he met his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Ann (nee Boettger) Gifford; at a YMCA in New Jersey and found his true calling as a devoted family man. The couple had two children, Nancy (Todd) Wilson and Christopher Gifford; Cherished grandfather of Alex and Connor Wilson.
A talented artist, Roy attended the Art Students League in New York City and acquired a working studio within a stone's throw of where the famous New Year's Ball Drop happens. After relocating to West Seneca, N.Y. he worked at Fisher-Price in East Aurora creating and sculpting designs for new toys that have brought delight to generations of children. He was part of the team that created the Original Little People. Retiring after 20 years there, he then continued to pursue his love of art by sculpting and working with pastels in his downtime.
Roy was a genuine and passionate man whose love for his family and artistic talents will be missed by many but never forgotten.
