Ida met the love of her life, Jeffrey, in grammar school and the two proceeded to date throughout high school. When they were twenty years old, they married and celebrated 72 wonderful years together. Ida and Jeffery grew their family by three with the additions of their three sons, Peter, Jesse, and Jeffrey. In their later years, they would welcome six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren together. Ida and Jeffrey co-owned with other family members the Highland Plaza Supermarket. She was also active with the Red Cross in the ’70s and '80s and St. Vincent’s Parish before it closed. In her free time, she enjoyed going to the casino and playing card games such as pinochle.
