Renee met her husband, Pete, at a church In Wayne, IL while he was attending a service with his sister. The two hit it off and were married for almost 65 years. They were blessed with 6 children: four boys and two girls. During their time together, they moved quite a bit since Pete worked for Bethlehem Steel. The family traveled frequently and had a pop-up camper in which they traveled to all of the 48 contiguous states, Canada, and Mexico.
In her younger years, Renee worked as an interior decorator. Although she eventually gave that up to focus on her family, she never lost her impeccable sense of style. Her home was always beautifully decorated, and she loved to host people, display her artwork, and share the lakeside and gardens.
Renee was always socially active. She enjoyed golfing, participated in several women’s clubs, and was active in church. She always made time for all of her kids’ activities. She never missed a game for the sports they participated in. She enjoyed painting and won a few awards at the Erie County Fair.
Renee was truly a one-of-a-kind woman and will be remembered fondly as the best wife for Pete and the best mom and grammy her family could ever ask for.
