Obituary of Sarah Elizabeth Olivieri
Sarah was a woman with a giving heart and a kind soul. She was an angel on Earth. Born with special needs, Sarah was expected to have many challenges. However, with the care and support of her loving family and dedicated medical professionals and teachers, she barreled through every obstacle. She beat the odds at every turn and never held resentment or was angry over all her special needs. Sarah loved life and held unconditional love for everyone she met, including those who may not have understood how special she was. Sarah always kept active. She loved to dance and could be found participating with Moving miracles, an all-age dance studio for those with special needs. She danced with the same group of people for 18 years. She also enjoyed adaptive skiing, camping with friends and family, cooking, drawing, reading, and herb gardening. Michelle Obama’s book was a recent favorite. When not keeping business with her many activities, she completed word searches, Crossword puzzles, and Vocabulary activity books. She was incredibly proud of her accomplishment of graduating Hamburg High School after 6 years. She furthered her education with the YALT program at Erie County Community College for 3 years. Through this program she worked with nursing homes and the 10 lives club. She also studied biology to learn more about her brain condition. Family was incredibly important. They served as her caretakers and support system. Sarah loved to tag along as an assistant to her mother Marie’s cleaning business and her father Darryl’s garage. Her love for cleaning stemmed from the pride she felt that her mother owned her own business. Sarah also enjoyed spending time with her siblings, Emily, and Darryl Jr. They are forever the three musketeers. She was also her mother’s workout buddy. Her family was completed with her two dogs, George, and Lucy. Sarah was a very girly and loved dresses and pink. She enjoyed drawing sketches of pretty dresses and shoes for her family. She also had impeccable manners. She loved country music and Taylor Swift. She always held meeting Gretchen Wilson close to her heart. Sarah loved her Cinderella and never forgot her wish child experience. She so enjoyed her Starbucks cousin dates and love for One Direction. Overall, Sarah could be described as a darling and sweet. She taught lessons of kindness, endurance, and what it means to be a good person. Olivieri, Sarah Elizabeth, September 20, 2020 of Hamburg, NY. Beloved daughter of Marie C. Benson and Darryl C.
