Obituary of Daniel J. Trzepacz

Daniel Trzepacz was a highly mechanically inclined Hydraulics Engineer who served as the Chief Hydraulics Engineer for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. In the early 1980’s he owned a family business for eighteen years called Northeast Hydraulics Services, Inc. Daniel also honed his craft as a machinist during the Korean War in the United States Navy, on the destroyer USS James C. Owens. As a veteran, Daniel was a lifetime member of the Hamburg American Legion Post 527. In October 2019, he traveled to Washington, DC as an honored member of the Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight - Mission #9. Family life began when Daniel met his wife Jeanette and raised three children - Mark, Elizabeth and Michael. In early years, the family shared many wonderful road trips to Florida to visit extended family. In his spare time, Daniel enjoyed refurbishing antique machinery. He was also a fan of steam engine trains, and was an active member of the Western New York Gas & Steam Engine Association as well as the Niagara Frontier Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society. Daniel was also a skilled carpenter who had a wood working shop in the upstairs of his barn, where he created many things including wooden cabinetry. Aside from raising chickens, he also had a fantastic green thumb, tending to his own vegetable and flower gardens in the yard. A Bonsai enthusiast, Daniel was a member of the Buffalo Bonsai Society and an active volunteer at the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens. Trzepacz, Daniel J. July 21, 2020 of Lake View, NY.
