To put it simply, grace was her family’s entire world. She was a strong-willed, caring woman that went to great lengths to support her family.
Grace started her hard-working life during WWII at the Curtis Wright Airplane Factory, even fibbing about her age in order to enter the work force. She met the love of her life, Daniel, and the two were married on September 6, 1950. Together, they raised a tight-knit family and celebrated 30 wonderful years until Daniel’s passing in 1980. Despite his passing, Grace persevered; she became a main caregiver to her ailing youngest daughter, Susan, while taking a second motherly role to her granddaughter, Christina.
Grace had many enjoyments that she shared with her family. She adored her garden, where she raised beautiful perennials and roses. She was also a talented knitter that made sweaters and slippers for her family to keep warm. even her granddaughters’ barbie dolls got sweaters! Her and Daniel also loved their camping trips and being a part of the outdoors. Their granddaughter, Catherine, grew to adore camping from those trips with them.
Holidays were not a time to miss at Grace’s house. Every Christmas time, Daniel would break out his accordion while Grace made her Polish sausage and wonderful Christmas cookies. During Easter, Grace would give each grandchild a string to follow around the house that would lead to their own gifts and chocolates. Grace’s love and dedication shone through every circumstance and celebration, and the memory of that love is truly irreplaceable.
