Obituary of Delores M. Picone
Delores was a selfless and giving Matriarch of her adoring family. A fantastic cook, Delores had her whole family over every Tuesday for dinner. Known for her large quantities of food and desire for no leftovers, no one ever left hungry from Delores’ house. She was also known for her baking, her grandchildren giving her the title of Master Baker. Delores’ loving family started back in her school days when she met her future husband, Joseph. The two would date for 5 years before marriage. After marrying, the two would go on to share 59 wonderful years together and celebrate the births of their two children Joseph Picone and Lisa Riggs (Picone). Joe and Lisa were the beginning of their family and it grew from there. Delores enjoyed cooking and baking for her family almost as much as she enjoyed the goofy dances her son would do after dinner to make her laugh. She was devoted to her family. In her free time, she also enjoyed singing to her children and crocheting blankets for her loved ones. Simple conversations were also a favorite. Other than her devotion to her family, Delores will be remembered for her openness and hospitality. Her love for cooking and baking extended past her own family and to anyone who wanted to come over. No matter the person or time of day, Delores always had baked goods and coffee to offer. She would even offer food and coffee to delivery drivers and personnel. Picone, Delores M.
