Obituary of Luca S. Calanni
Luca was the sweetest, kindest, boy you would ever meet. He was a caring young man who would always stick up for others, even though he was little. He embodied the saying “It is not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog.” Luca genuinely cared about every person he met and always wanted to protect everyone. Everything about Luca would make you smile! Teachers would say he worried about everyone else, to a fault. Luca would do things to accommodate others, especially if they had special needs. He would do things that they could enjoy and not push them to do what he wanted. Luca loved sports very much and was always active. He played basketball, soccer, and golf. He played basketball for Little Cagers and his dad Bodge was the coach. Luca even helped him create the plays. He dribbled every day and would shoot hoops for hours on end. Bodge would say that Luca made him a better person in life. He was always grateful for every opportunity to go to games. He was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres and the NBA. He knew all the players and every statistic from every single team. It was crazy how much he knew about sports! Luca wanted to go to Ohio State for college and become a lawyer, since he was very smart and argued so well. Luca could debate anything, even when he was asked to his clean his room! You could describe Luca as quite the fashion police in his house. He would tell his mom, Ashley, if she should wear certain outfits and he always gave his honest opinion. Luca would often bust everyone’s chops for their outfits. When his little sister Frankie was born, he would always want to hold her even though he cried when he found out she was coming! Luca adored her and looked out for her every day. He loved to read; he read all the Harry Potter books by the second grade. Luca also read books about sports too; that’s how he knew so much about them. Anything that Luca was interested in he would thoroughly research. His favorite song was “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles. He also liked Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5, and Post Malone. Luca’s favorite foods was sushi and smoked salmon, quite the expensive pallet! He enjoyed eating at Lucia’s, Wanakah, Juicy Burger, The Grange and the Swan Street Diner. Luca had a sophisticated taste and hated the kid’s menu. He was just learning how to cook, and he loved it. His grandfather, Luke, would say “If he could take the best qualities of both of his parents, they were in Luca”. Luke also thought it was intimidating of how smart his grandson was. When Luca was younger, he could identify most cars as they drove by thanks to his Matchbox cars. Orange and blue were his favorite colors, especially orange. Overall, Luca was the sweetest, most caring, passionate, and focused little boy you would ever meet with a fantastic personality; he was full of life! Luca’s parents Ashley and Bodge would always say to him “Luca, I love you” and he would respond “I love you more!” every time! IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, MEMORIALS MAY BE MADE TO THE "LUCA S.
