Ralph was a man who found many things in life to be passionate about. When he was seventeen, he lied about his age to enlisted in the Navy, during the end of World War II. During his term of service, he stayed stateside and then relocated to Denver. While sailing with friends he met Jaqueline, who was invited with her friends to accompany them. When Ralph was twenty-six years old his parents convinced him it’s time to finally get married. Their family grew by to five with the additions of Michele, Lynn and Leigh.
Sailing and skiing were very important to Ralph. He owned his own boat he named “Sunday’s Child” and often sailed to Toronto. Ralph originally was a ski racer and helped set up Glenwood Acres, including the ski patrol there. He was a man of many hobbies; one being woodworking, where he crafted tables, bookshelves, doors and more. Ralph enjoyed gardening, tomatoes and roses, and photography, taking many photos of the children, CN Tower and still scenery. He also enjoyed live theatre and attending the symphony. In high school, Ralph was a football player which led him to coach children and adults later in life. He was on the board of the West Seneca Sharks swim team and a member of the Lion’s Club when his girls were young.
When Ralph was younger, he found serenity and delight from walks around the lakeshore.
