Obituary of Joan L Lindner

Joan was an adventurous and loving woman. She continued to hold her strong faith throughout her life and was very much involved with her parish. Her beloved husband Norman, who preceded her in death, enjoyed life together. They took up square dancing and traveling everywhere from Europe to Florida to the Thousand Islands, enjoying the sunshine every step of the way. Joan had an adventurous side with her love of roller coasters. She took her children with her too on the thrill rides to share in her fun. Joan also enjoyed her gardens she tended and always made sure the birds who visited her yard were well fed. When Joan wasn’t on one of her adventures, you could find her reading novels, listening to music, playing a board game or taking a nap. Joan was tenacious and able to find the simple pleasures in life and never took them for granted. Her family will miss her tremendously especially at this time because her house was where everyone had gathered for the holidays. Our loving Mother, Grandma, Aunt, Great Grandma, Friend, Joan was surrounded by family when she was called to our Lord. She died Monday December 23, 2019. She was born March 21st, 1933 in Ebenezer, NY to Rose and George Dailey. Joan graduated high school from West Seneca High School and went to work for Blue Cross & Blue Shield as a key punch operator. Preceding her in death was her "Beloved Partner" Norman Lindner. After marriage to Norman, Joan was a stay at home mom and raising her 4 children was her greatest joy. She instilled in us our Catholic faith, taught us the importance of service to others, a strong work ethic, and keeping a sense of humor. Joan was a lover of music, gardening, square dancing, reading, travel, and roller coasters. After her children were grown Joan worked at Liberty Bank as a teller, Buffalo Savings Bank as a financial advisor, and retired after many years from M&T Bank as a financial sales counselor. Joan was active in her church, as a Ladies sodality member, Eucharistic minister, and was a volunteer for counting the collections after mass and volunteered with the parish carnival. In her final years, Joan moved to Saline Michigan to be close to her daughter. Joan is survived by her dear Brother Norman Dailey, and her children Norman (Cecilia), Claudia (Matthew), Douglas, and Brian. Treasured grandmother to Kalista, Kayla, Dylan, Matthew, Christine, Marshall, Kimberly, and six great-grandchild. We will celebrate her life on Saturday December 28, 2019 at 11am held at St. John Vianney Church, 2950 South Western Blvd. Orchard Park New York.
