David, affectionately known as “Poncho,” was a determined man who cared deeply for his family. He was a Lance Corporal for the US Marines, where he drove trucks, semis, and cattle cars. While in service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal. David had a life-long career as a machinist, he had gotten the job through a friend’s dad and stuck with it. For all of his hard work, he did his best to make time for his family. His favorite special occasions were always the Family Picnics, where he could have everyone together to share good food and plenty of sweets.
With so much time dedicated to his work, David always made room to enjoy his favorite hobbies. He liked listening to 60s and 70s rock n roll music. He especially loved Elvis, even his favorite movies had Elvis as the starring role! When it came to spending time outdoors, he like to fish and golf. David’s true passion, however, was Lionel Model Trains. He could often be found working with his model sets to make sure that they all looked just right.
