Obituary of Alice I. Van Patten
Alice was born and raised on the west side of Buffalo, where she graduated from Annunciation High School before she joined the West Seneca community. Those that Alice touched with her kindness knew her as the woman who was there for everyone.
Family was very important to Alice. She met her late husband, Lester, at a parish dance at St. Michaels and they wed in 1952. They were blessed with three sons; Michael, Donald and Mark, and then eventually three grandaughters; Denise, Michelle and Maureen.
Alice enjoyed sewing clothes and dresses. Cooking was a hobby of hers as well, though baking was her strong suit, especially cookies! She always stayed active, as she attended exercise classes for many years at the senior center, which undoubtedly helped her live to a healthy 94 years old. She popped into the senior center socially for lunches as well, and had many friends through that community.
Alice will be missed by her family and many friends. Knowing she will be reunited with Lester for his birthday (November 5) brings tears of joy to our eyes.
