Obituary of Kevin Joseph McMahon
Everyone knew Kevin as a generous person who would drop everything to lend a helping hand. His kind and loving personality lit up any room and his gift of gab always made others feel valued. A conversation never ended without him letting you know he loved you.
When Kevin was a child, his father Joseph took him out water skiing and wouldn’t let him climb aboard the boat until he had succeeded at pulling himself up on one ski. Kevin was frustrated by the process but was so proud of himself once he had persevered! This life lesson carried into adulthood, as Kevin always found a way through any circumstance.
He was a skilled electrician who worked for Buffalo State College. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending his free time in the outdoors, boating, waterskiing, and target shooting in the woods.
Kevin enjoyed working out in the yard and always kept his yard neat and well cared for.
His favorite childhood activity of hiking with his parents, Joseph and Mary Jo and his brother Brian, turned into a life-long hobby. Kevin loved to get up every morning and take a walk into the woods behind his house. He spent a lot of time building and maintaining his favorite spot, “the pit,” where he would relax and host bonfires for his family and friends.
Some of Kevin’s finest years were spent with his loving life partner, Sheri, and his faithful dog Shady. Family was very important to Kevin. He loved spending time with his nephew, Owen; Sheri’s daughters, Autumn, Chelsea, and Ashley; and Sheri’s grandson, Damien.
Kevin will be lovingly remembered as a kind soul who always brightened up people’s lives. His memory will live on in acts of kindness and laughter shared by all.
