Craig Rose

Obituary of Craig A. Rose

Craig was a compassionate, loving guy who would do anything for anyone who needed help. He had a gruff exterior at times, but had a deeply caring soul underneath.

After  high school, Craig  joined the Navy.  He served for over 4 years during the early years of the Viet Nam War.

Later on he joined the Army National Guard where he formed a lasting bond with many of his fellow servicemen.   Their military police unit served in Desert Shield/ Desert Storm and later in Bosnia.   After his retirement in 2000, his unit was again deployed to Iraq. Craig was very proud of his time in the Army, although he was modest about his service. Craig served out of love for his country and fellow man.

Craig met his wife, Gail, through some mutual friends.  They were married in 1982 and spent over 37 happy years together. He worked as a skilled trades painter at the Chevy plant in Tonawanda.

After retiring about 13 years ago, Craig spent much of his time fishing on  Lake Erie and Chautauqua Lake  with some of his friends and Army buddies. He liked to go really fast on the boat, and once even got a little too much attention from the lake patrol!
