Jack was a hard-working man with a special place in his heart for his family and friends. Jack served as a sergeant for the US Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. He earned several awards for his service, such as the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and a Bronze Star. For years he worked for the town of West Seneca, where he was affectionately known as “Frosty.”
Jack liked to take care of his home, especially when he could be out working in the garden. Whether he was out and about or staying in to watch the Yankees, his go-to beer was a Genny Light. One of his favorite ways to pass the time was going on rides with his dear friend, Jimbo, and those trips were known as “the ride to save the world.” Jack was also a part of many organizations, like the Gaelic American Association of WNY and the Hoppers Social Club.
At his core, Jack was a salt of the earth, old school Irish Catholic. Born and raised in the Old First Ward of Buffalo, he truly loved his heritage. Even his favorite music was Irish! He participated in the Shamrock Run to support the Old First Ward Community Association for 25 years. For 16 of those years, he was able to run alongside his daughter. Jack loved his family dearly, and there was nothing he appreciated more than grilling outside for parties and babysitting his beloved grandkids. He loved his bride Marilyn of almost 24 years. They loved to go around town on their drives and go out for dinner with family and friends. Jack will be truly missed by his family, friends and loved ones.
