Bill was a hard-working man who wanted nothing more than to take care of others in his community. He earned his master’s degree in special education and in English. He was teacher at Western New York Developmental Disabilities State Operations and Offices, as well as at Wendy Correctional. He also worked at Crisis Services to help those in need. Bill loved volunteering with the Mental Health Association with their Court Appointed Special Advocate’s program to help represent children in need. He even got named volunteer of the year!
Along with being very giving, Bill was also a faithful man, and served as treasurer for St. Vincent DePaul at Our Lady of Charity. Many of his favorite causes, such as the City Mission, the Salvation Army, and Friends of the Night People, are rooted in the Christian belief of taking care of our neighbors. In his free time, Bill enjoyed hanging out with his beloved wife Marilyn and their friends to go bowling. His favorite kinds of music were the sounds of Linda Ronstadt and the smooth melodies of Dixieland jazz. And of course, there was always excitement in the air when he sat down to watch his baseball team, the Yankees!
