Denice was a strong woman whose love of God always helped her when times were tough. She was very faithful, and she went to church every Sunday that she could. Taking care of her family was a joy, and she stayed a constant source of support even during her battle with cancer. After getting her degrees at Medaille College and Buffalo State, she worked as a third-grade teacher for 14 years in Buffalo and Eden. Denice was so committed to helping her children that even after she retired, she helped her daughter Jackie run her bead shop. She was supportive of her daughter Elizabeth on her various adventures abroad, even as she worried and prayed for her. Everyone loved Denice, she was incredibly personable and was there whenever help was needed.
During her retirement, Denice had more time to indulge her love of reading while she was taking care of her beloved husband, Robert. She picked up sewing and quilting as well. Cape Cod was one of their favorite vacation spots, and it became more so when her granddaughter, Isabella, was brought into the family. Her favorite thing to do was do art projects with Isabella, aided by the basement full of materials and projects that Robert kept for her from her teaching days. Denice loved to care for Isabella, and she pampered her granddaughter with toys, clothes, and trips to go swimming. She was the best wife, mother, and Nona in the world!
