Rose was the perfect Mom. She was always home with her children. She had a loving and caring heart and was always very forgiving of their trials and tribulations. Family always came first to Rose.
Rose and her husband Larry had eight children, five girls and three boys. She was always the good cop and Larry was bad cop to the kids. Rose was happiest when everyone was together around the dining room table. She was a very generous woman. Even though she had a large family she always found time to spend with others. Rose had a very unselfish love for everyone in her family, even down to the in-laws and extended family. She was a woman of extremely strong faith. As a devout Catholic, Rose attended mass daily until she fell and broke her leg when she was 87. Even though she could not attend mass, she continued to pray daily and would watch mass on T.V. Rose and Larry were both Eucharistic Ministers for their church. Monsignor Gallagher referred to her as his own Mother Theresa. Rose taught Kindergarten in Olean at St. Mary’s of The Angels for many years, she loved being around the children. Rose and Larry loved to travel. They loved to take the family to Disney World, it was one of their favorites and made lifelong Disney fans of the kids. They would also travel to a few of their other favorite places like Virginia Beach and Atlantic City. Rose and Larry were also snowbirds for many years in Clearwater, Florida before Larry passed away. Besides her love of family and her devout Catholic faith, Rose loved to go shopping at the mall, but Target was one of her favorites, she even left her cane in the shopping cart several times. She would go on these shopping trips with her daughters and granddaughters. Rose loved to watch Dancing with the Stars, Turner Classic Movies and Hallmark Movies. Watching Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dance was also on her top things to watch. Rose was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed St Bonaventure Basketball. You would often find her listening to Country music as well as big band music like Lawrence Welk. Rose took great pride in her appearance and always took the time to look her best. Rose loved having a large family, having 8 children, 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren made her the happiest woman on Earth. Rose left her children with a precious gift of a letter explaining her love for each one of them. She truly was an amazing woman and mother and always found happiness in even the tiniest things. Rose is now reunited with Larry and will always be watching over her all her precious children. She will be truly missed by her family, friends and loved ones.
