Obituary of Helen Louise Lewchuk
Helen was the life of the party. She had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. Helen was a quick-witted woman and was always a happy and bubbly person. Some would say that Helen was a self-proclaimed Miss America.
Helen was from Erie, Pennsylvania, where she grew up an orphan. She worked for Social Security when she grew older where she met her husband, Walter. They worked together for a while, but Helen decided to quit because of their relationship. Helen and Walter moved around to different places and loved to travel. They had a daughter, Michele who was married to her favorite son-in-law Patrick. Always a humorous one, Helen would laugh that Patrick was her favorite as he was her only son-in-law. Together they had a granddaughter, Eleanor. Helen lived in Florida for 15 years and lived in the Caribbean on the island of St. Thomas. Helen traveled many times to Ireland with Pat McGinty’s group. Helen loved walking everywhere and you would often find her doing just that. Her fun-loving spirit gave her a very eclectic taste, especially in music. Helen listened to just about everything. She loved musicals, jazz, opera and artists like Vince Guaraldi and the Memphis Underground. Sometimes you would catch her on the harmonica playing God Bless America. One of Helen’s hobbies was hitting the local happy hour. This and her reputation for being the life of the party earned her the nickname of Heineken Helen. Helen’s fun-loving spirit will be dearly missed by her family, friends and loved ones.
