Obituary of Jean L. Scaglione
Jean was a loving mother, sister, friend and wife. She loved her family and children in the best way she knew how. Jean was a strict mother, but her kids respected and loved her dearly. Growing up, Jean had a deep love for her grandmother, and became very close. She talked about her grandmother often and the life lessons she learned from her over the years.
Jean and her husband Larry started a family and had four children, then came along eight grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Her family was her rock after she lost her husband. She always said her family is what got her through. Jean’s favorite time of the year was Summer. She loved to be outdoors and take her children on day trips to places like Fantasy Island, Niagara Falls, The Corning Museum of Glass, Salamanca and more. Jean had a love of reading and working on crossword puzzles. One of her earliest childhood memories was meeting her kindergarten teacher and making new friends. She loved school and said her favorite teacher, Miss Sullivan, would invite the whole class over to her house and spend time with the kids.
One of Jean’s proudest achievements was going back to school at age 24 to become a dental hygienist, which is what she always wanted to be when she grew up. Her other great achievement was meeting and marrying her husband Larry and having her four wonderful children. Jean liked to listen to the old favorites such as Frank Sinatra and Robert Goulet. her children would laugh as she would blast the music too loud due to her lack of hearing. Jean loved her family and loved life, if she were to leave you some words of wisdom they would be, “Stay true to who you are. Live your life to the fullest and make the best of each and every day.”
