Obituary of Shirley Arlene Weston
Shirley was a social woman who loved being around people. She had quite a sweet tooth, so she was always passing out assorted Brach’s hard candies whenever she saw someone that she knew. She cared for her husband for many years before he passed, and she was lucky enough to live next door to her grandchildren, so she could always lend a helping hand.
Shirley was an incredibly artistic woman with everything from drawings, to crafts, to music! She truly could make something out of nothing when she put her mind to it. The piano had a special place in Shirley’s heart because of all the time she spent playing. However, she loved listening to all the instruments together at Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra concerts.
Shirley was a teacher to her core, she couldn’t have stopped if she wanted to. She made sure that everything she had was dated, whether it was pictures or mementos, so she’d never have to wonder. In her pantry, she had a laminated sign hanging that said, “If confused, see Shirley.” Even when her son Tim was sending her letters from boot camp, she would send them back corrected with red pen!
