Obituary of Anna Roach
Anna May was born on the dining table of her parents dairy farm in Arkport, NY. One of seven daughters, her humble beginnings taught her to care for loved ones and the Earth. She recycled before it was even thought of. Practicality was bread into her by living the life of a farmer’s daughter. Even though growing up on a farm taught her so much, she couldn’t wait to leave.
She went off to school to Geneseo where she worked in an ice cream shop. Here is where she met John, an Irish Catholic guy from New York City. When she married John, it was the scandal of the family!
John and Anna shared a love of teaching. Ken-Ton school district was where they were hired and worked for many years. Anna left to raise their five children. She loved spending time with her family whether it was teaching her grandson to play saxophone or babysitting her cherished grandchildren.
One of her favorite pastimes was feeding the birds in her yard.
