Harold was a heartfelt man who was devoted to his beloved wife, Alice, and the family that he built with her. The pair met at a Halloween party at the Lake View Fire Hall when Alice was 19 and Harold was 21. He fell fast for her and wanted to take her on a family trip to Florida. Her parents told him that he couldn’t unless he married Alice, so he did just that. Ever since, Harold was always in a hurry to get home and spend time with her. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Harold was a very well-respected member of the community due to his charity. He was the Vice Chairman of the Hamburg Republican Party at one time. His doors were always open to friends and neighbors, especially during the holidays. Not only did he feed those who came to his home, but he also worked with Meals on Wheels to bring warm food to those in need. On top of all of this, he had also served as both the president of the Lake View Fire Hall and the Fire Police Chief.
